WENDY LAWSON

Wendy Lawson has autism spectrum disorder, and was considered to be intellectually disabled in childhood. She was later misdiagnosed as schizophrenic, a label that stuck with her for over 25 years. Yet Wendy is now a mother of four with several tertiary qualifications. She is a social worker and adult educator, a poet and writer, sharing her understanding of autism with others to help "build a bridge from my world to theirs", as she demonstrates in her remarkable new book Life Behind Glass.
